FDI World Dental Federation Clarifies Bahrain Will Host a Regional Congress in 2028

FDI World Dental Federation (FDI) has issued a clarification following recent media reports regarding Bahrain's role as a host destination for an upcoming FDI event. The Federation confirms that Bahrain will host an FDI Regional Congress in 2028 — not the FDI World Dental Congress, as some reports had suggested.

The FDI Regional Congress is a distinct event from FDI's flagship global gathering. The Regional Congress brings together dental professionals and stakeholders from across a specific region for scientific exchange, professional development, and collaboration. It serves as an important platform for advancing oral health within regional contexts, fostering dialogue between local dental associations and the broader international dental community.

The FDI World Dental Congress, by contrast, is FDI's premier annual global event, convening the international dental community from across the world. FDI has clarified that the host destination for the FDI World Dental Congress 2028 has not yet been announced, and that further details will be shared in the coming months.

FDI expressed its appreciation for the partnership with the Bahrain Dental Society and affirmed its commitment to a successful Regional Congress in Bahrain in 2028. The Federation values its collaboration with national dental associations across the Middle East and looks forward to bringing a high-quality scientific and professional programme to the region.
